(options/ first player)

Main menu: OPTIONS
The first player begins the game with X.

Choose the player in
Extension menu:
(LOCAL PLAYERS, INTERNET PLAYERS, COMPUTER ENGINES)

(local human):
Choose the player in the selector. The red/unavailable players can be choosen, but the current opponent is too experienced (with the rating higher than 200 points) and the game start will fail. You can choose the red one, but then you will have to change the opponent to the player closer to your skills in the SCORE table.

Click on CREATE to add new player with the default name (empty, empty2, ...) and with the lowest rating. Click on DELETE to remove selected player.

Details of choosen player are shown and editable (colored in blue) in the middle of the screen. You can also select the image/face of the player among 45 types. There are further new 150 faces of players in the shareware PIXORIA APPENDIX.

The local player can use also own faces (done by camera or drawn), see tips and tricks.

All changes have to be confirmed by DONE button when you return back to the game. All changes are valid only for a new game, thus you have to click on NEW GAME in the MAIN MENU.

(remote player):
Choose the player in the selector.

Click on CREATE to add new player with the default name (empty, empty2, ...) and with the lowest rating. Click on DELETE to remove selected player.

Details of choosen player are shown and editable(colored in blue) in the middle of the screen. The internet player represents remote opponent, therefore real information (name, rating, images, origin, ..) about the opponent are downloaded at the beginning of a new game, when the connection to the opponent is established/is on-line.

REMOTE IMAGE:
Remote image/face/animation is downloaded at the beginning of a new game, when there is active option DOWNLOAD OPPONENT'S ANIMATIONS in the MAIN MENU/ SETUP

URL:
Editable only for remote player, who is internet/TCP IP client (YOU ARE SERVER - NO). URL defines address of opponent's internet server (URL of HTTP/SOAP server). The URL can be as follows:
a) any IP address in the format x.x.x.x, where x is octet (number from 0 to 255),for example 192.168.1.3

b) any DNS record that can be looked up by your OS, for example http://myhomecomputer

c) In extra ordinary cases when opponent's server does not use a default TCP port the URL can contain TCP port, for example 192.168.1.3:1019 or http://myhomecompurer:8080

URL shows your computer's address/DNS name, if an option YOU ARE SERVER is YES. This address should be fulfilled to URL of the client (YOU ARE SERVER - NO) on opponent's computer.
Check tips and tricks (my URL) how to get your URL other way.

YOU ARE SERVER:
You can choose if you (edited internet player) are server/YES or client/NO. The meaning of terms server or client comes from TCP/IP theory. If you are not aware of it, just remember that during the game over the internet one player has to be client and the second the server. Each server has the address/URL and the client has to know it. One instance of the Pixoria game has only one server, the status and TCP port of the server is visible in the MAIN MENU/SETUP.

If you start two Pixoria games/instances on one computer, then one of internet servers will be switched off due to TCP/IP port collision. You can change the port and turn the server on in the MAIN MENU/SETUP, but in this case the internet client has to specify the exact server's port number to the URL, e.g. localhost:9081.

Check Internet in the help to see examples of internet games with pictures.

All changes have to be confirmed by DONE button when you return back to the game. All changes are valid only for a new game, thus you have to click on NEW GAME in the MAIN MENU.

(local computer):
Choose the player in the selector. The red/unavailable players can be choosen, but the current human opponent is too little experienced (with the rating lower than 200 points) and the game start will fail. You can choose the red one, but then you will have to change the opponent to the player closer to your skills in the SCORE table.

COMPUTER ENGINE can play with another COMPUTER engine without any limitation including ratings.

You can choose from 15 different engines. Further 19 computer engines you can buy within the PIXORIA APPENDIX, see section APPENDIX.

In addition to these 34 computer engines you can add anothers from other authors or you can develop you own and beat others. These computer engines (plug-in engines) can be dowloaded and published at http://www.pixoria.eu. The PIXORIA APPENDIX is an example of such plug-in. There is downloadable technical documentation with sample source code too.

All changes have to be confirmed by DONE button when you return back to the game. All changes are valid only for a new game, thus you have to click on NEW GAME in the MAIN MENU.
